§ 18-121. Disposal generally.

Any article of personal property acquired by the police department in the course of its law enforcement activities shall be held by the department for 30 days, unless claimed by the owner sooner. If unclaimed at the end of that time, the property may be sold by the chief of police at public auction, for cash, to the highest bidder, or may be disposed of as provided in section 18-125.
