§ 2-346. Establishment.

  • (a)

    The city recognizes cultural heritage and historic preservation as qualities essential to human need and the physical beauty, economic health and quality of life of the city. A preservation commission of the city (hereinafter referred to as the "commission") shall be established to promote and coordinate cultural heritage and historic preservation activities in the city.

    (b)

    The commission shall consist of seven members as follows: three members with professional expertise in the disciplines of history, planning, archeology, architecture, or other preservation related disciplines such as cultural geography or cultural anthropology, one member from city government, and three members from the public at large.
